Her Forbidden Hero (The Hero, #1)Her Forbidden Hero by Laura Kaye
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 broken hero stars

This is a sweet love story of two persons who are meant to be together, but need to learn how to fight their demons and insecurities, to trust in each other, in order to be together.

We have Marco Vieri, a war hero who has so many demons and feels so broken that he doesn't believe he deserves happiness, so when Alyssa Scott returns home after college and he start to have feelings for his best friend sister, a girl he used to protect from her drunk father, he feels the need to protect her even from himself.

All at once, he saw her through new eyes. And what he saw very particularly wasn’t a little girl. Not anymore. She might’ve been small in stature, but between the long chocolate waves of her hair, the way her V-neck shirt shaped over her breasts, and how those damn jeans hugged her, there was no safe place to look and not think woman. And it was a short trip from that thought to wondering how she would feel under his hands, in his arms. He was a man, after all. A man who had been without the pleasure of a woman these long months while he fought tooth and nail to get back to a shadow of his old self. But the beautiful girl, er, woman standing before him wasn't just any woman. She was his best friend’s little sister. Strictly off-limits. That was guy code 101.

Alyssa has been in love with Marco since she can remember, and she tries very hard to show him she’s not longer the little girl who needed protection, she’s a grown woman and is determined to get him to see her with different eyes, but she doesn’t know everything Marco lived in the war, so she doesn’t understand his situation and he’s determined to not ask for help or let her or anybody see how broken he is.

Alyssa nuzzled into his back and pressed a kiss against his shoulder. He sucked in a breath, his erection punching against the fly of his jeans again. But it wouldn’t just be sex. Not with her. The ache in his chest and the constriction in his throat, that was about the part of him that wanted to comfort her and be comforted in return, that wanted companionship and a place to belong. It would be about lo— He shook his head, clamping down on the tail end of that thought. Without question, Alyssa would give him everything he wanted and more, but what he wanted was just a bunch of fantasy bullshit for someone like him. It killed him to do so, but he twisted free of her arms and forced himself to face her. Frustration and regret weighed on his shoulders like an anvil. “This”—he waved his finger back and forth between them and swallowed down a river of sadness—“this right here. This can’t happen."

Both have problems, different kind of problems, but they’re both stubborn and try to solve their problems without asking for help. What they can deny is the growing attraction between them, Aly knows is not a teenager crush anymore and Marco knows the feeling he has for Aly is not a case of having the hots for his best friend sister, so they have some moments of weakness.

Alyssa inhaled and tilted her head to the side, inviting his exploration. He couldn't resist. He licked and kissed up her neck until he reached the soft indentation beneath her ear. He sucked at her there until she was panting in his arms

Beautiful story, a lot of heartbreak in the story, but with a sweet ending. It’s written in dual POV, so we get to be in Marco’s head and understand better his problems. Totally recommend it.

Under LockeUnder Locke by Mariana Zapata
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 frigging stars!!!

"I can't ignore this shit between us anymore, and I'm not gonna. Not when it makes so much sense"

Iris is a nice, quiet person, she didn't had a normal childhood. After his dad, a former member of the Widowmakers MC left her family, she and her mom got sick. After her mom died, Iris had to take care her little brother Will.

After losing her job and being nearly bankrupt, Iris moves to Austin, TX to live with her half brother Sonny, who is part of the Widowers MC. Sonny gets Iris a job at Pins and Needles, a tattoo parlor, not really her dream job, but she is really trying to see the bright side. The only thing Iris didn't consider was Dexter Locke, her rude new boss with a very short temper, member of the Widowmakers MC and hot and sexy as hell....

"His broad shoulders and thickly veined forearms were more than enough to make a girl stare. Because his face... Jesus, shit. Jesus. Shit.

I was going to ask Santa for his good identical twin for Christmas"

Iris hear him talking bad of her on the phone, so Iris decides she's going to do her work and give him the cold shoulder treatment (her calling him "The Dick" in her head was funny). Things get dangerous for Iris because of some stuff her father did so she ends up stuck with Dex as protector while things cool down. Their relationship evolves and she see a different side of Dex....

Dex's fingers extended to where the palm covered all of the back of my neck and his fingers wrapped around most of my throat. "My ma used to tell me you have to fight through some shitty ass days to get to the best days of your life. So I’m tellin’ you now, that you gotta hang in there. I swear to you, after this shit is over, you’re not gonna have to worry about him ever again.” His thumb dug deep into my flesh.

I made a noise that sounded like I was dying. “Oh Dex.”

“Babe, you’re the sweetest little girl I’ve ever met. You deserve better than this broken heart bullshit.” His fingers kneaded the muscles on my neck. “If I ever see that beautiful face cryin again
over somethin’ that worthless sack of shit did, I’m gonna make your daddy regret ever meetin’ your ma, you got it?”

Of course, things gets more serious between them and you can imagine the combination of short tempered and jelous Dex...

“Baby, there’s nothing wrong with my judgment. I know exactly what I’m doin’, and I know damn well that if I ever see you smile at somebody like you did at Trey today, I’ll kill the poor bastard.”

“Dex!”

“I’m not jokin’. I don’t ever wanna see that shit ever again so unless you want me goin’ to jail for murderin’ somebody, quit it,” he stated, not blinking, not breathing, totally focused."

A lot of sexy as hell scenes in there too!...

"He bit down again before nuzzling the line of my jaw. "You're mine." His lower body pressed into my stomach. Hard, he was so hard. "Your mouth, your face, your ass, your pussy, Ritz. You're all mine."

All the book is written in Iris POV, it's fun to be in her head, sometimes sad when she remember her life as a teen, but her silly "that's what she said" jokes were fun... Seriously this book had me since the first word. It's a long book, very detailed, but not in a boring way.

So, in this book we have a hot biker with a short temper and super possessive of his lady, a super fun and likable heroine who likes to give a piece of her mind to a super hot alpha... what's not to LOVE!

Unfortunately there's no news for a second book of this author, I was really hoping to read Sonny's or Trip's story!

The Seduction 2 (The Seduction, #2)The Seduction 2 by Roxy Sloane
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

book 2

4.5 'cause I love Vaughn's dirty mouth stars!!!

This book continues where the first one left off, Keely is running from Vaughn, there's a turn of events for Keely, one that involves one of the clients at the Law firm she works, the danger is still looming, but Keely doesn't know and Vaughn have still no idea who hired him to seduce Keely.

The chemistry between them is impossible to deny, Keely has a very hard time denying this and Vaughn is still trying to dominate her.... and still Vaughn's dirty mouth is present...

"You want my cock driving deep inside you," Vaughn growls, circling swiftly, driving me higher. "You want every fucking inch of it, al the way to the hilt. I'll bend you over, and fuck you right here against the wall until you're screaming out of your goddamn mind. The neighbors will call the cops, you're so loud" he continues, holding my gaze, rubbing me faster. "But you won't care, will you? Because it feels so good. They'll find you on your knees, with my cock buried down your throat, but you won't stop sucking me, you won't break position, until I say because I'm. Not. Done. With. You. Yet"

Things start to change, the way Vaughn sees Keely scares him, so he tries to avoid her.

At the end we have another cliffhanger!... I didn't like this, but still is a great series!.

The Seduction 1 (The Seduction, #1)The Seduction 1 by Roxy Sloane
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 mind blowing stars!

What caught my attention of this book?, first, it was a freebie, then I was attracted to the cover (who doesn't like a sexy cover, right?), then I went and read the blurb and I was game!. A sexy hero who seduces women for a living, a sweet and shy girl who denies to get involved with the beautiful, dark stranger with the very dirty mouth... I shudder (in a good way) every time I he tells something dirty to her, trying to dominate her... since their first encounter.

"Be careful." The man winks again. "Or next time, you'll wind up on your hands and knees." He leans in to whisper, just for me. "Exactly where you belong".

And these were the most sweet words spoken in the whole book, imagine the wicked things that come out of Vaughn's mouth! *blushing*

But of course, there's a hidden agenda, he was hired to seduce her and show proof of that, by whom? well, that's the mystery and we don't get to read it in this book.

There's a lot of sexy scenes and mystery to keep you reading until the end, and it's a very short and easy read, the only bad part is, it ends with a cliffhanger!. I can't wait to read the next part and it's only .98 cents at Amazon.

Crash (Crash, #1)Crash by Nicole Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 TOTALLY JUDE STARS!!!

This was my second time reading this book and I want to reaffirm that the best part of this book is Jude Ryder, unequivocally. To me, Lucy was a little bit annoying, so I’m not writing a review; I’m going to quote my favorite Jude moments, I think that’ll be the best way to encourage readers to five this book a chance…

First, one of his not so good moments, but still, it’s important to understand the depth of my crush on Jude…

“The name’s Jude Ryder, since I know you’re all but salivating like a rabid dog to know, and I don’t do girlfriends, relationships, flowers, or regular phone calls. If that works for you, I think we could work out something special.”

See?... not his best moment, but then his life hasn't been the best, but still turns out to he can be completely different with Luce…

“It’s not hard to recognise something special when life’s thrown a lotta shit your way”

*sigh*

“How does a guy like you promise someone forever at eighteen?”

“Easy,” he said, pressing a soft kiss into the corner of my mouth. “He finds a girl like you.”

*** Jeez Jude you’re killing me***

“Because I know I will never love anyone like I love you. That’s what will overcome the past every time it tries to rear its ugly head.” He stepped closer. “So it’s either you and me or me and me, Luce. And I don’t really like myself, so I hope you’ll pick the you and me option.”

***I’ll pick you!!!*** <--- sorry, but like I said, I have a big case of Jude crush

“Jude," I said, biting my lip. "I just can't. I can't do this."
His expression darkened. "I know I don't deserve a second, or third, or whatever the hell this is chance, but you and I have something special, Luce, and you know it. Give me another chance, one more chance, and I'll walk a line so straight people will think I've been possessed." God I wanted to look away from those eyes, but I just couldn't. They were impossible to ignore. "One more chance. Not because I deserve it, but because we deserve one.”

And I can go on and on, but the important thing is, if you like books with a bad boy that turns out to be very sweet and protective of his lady, with a lot of angst and a sweet ending, well this is a great option, AND, this is just book one, you can read a lot more of Jude and Lucy in the next 2 books.

Heart on a ChainHeart on a Chain by Cindy C. Bennett

4 heart wrenching stars

“That doesn’t sound quite right to me—what choice did I have but to survive?”

I had this book on my to read list like forever and finally took the time to read it. Well, with this book I’ve experienced sadness, anger, hope and happiness… it’s a real emotional roller coaster. It reminded me a lot to the feeling I had while reading Reason to Breathe by Rebecca Donovan.

Kate is a 17 years old girl that has been suffering abuse at home, physical and emotional, since she was 9 years old. Her father is an alcoholic and her mother has a very strong pill dependency, so her home life hasn’t been the best, ‘cause apart from the abuse, her family is poor. Unfortunately the abuse doesn’t end at home, since she is bullied at school by her classmates.

She had a friend at school, Henry, who had feelings for Kate but moved out of town when she was 11 years old, but Henry is back for his senior year and finds a very different Kate, shy, closed off and hiding in the corners to avoid contact with her schoolmates. She even eat her lunch sitting in the corner floor at the cafeteria!.

Henry tries to approach her, to be her friend again, but she doesn’t understand why he’s trying so hard to be her friend if this could be a social suicide for him. But well, Henry does have something in mind, because he’s been in love with her since she was 11 years, so he tries to save her, even not knowing all the abuse she suffers at home.

“Kate, I’ve loved you for years. I mean, I know twelve-year-olds don’t know what love is, so I guess I should say I’ve really liked you for years. But when I saw you this year, I knew. I knew we should be together. I just didn’t know how hard you were going to make me work to get you to even like me. So, yeah, of course I want you to love me back.”

The story is sad and beautiful at the same time, the beautiful parts are all related with Henry and his family, Henry tries to teach Kate how to live without fear at school, how to stand up for herself, even by protecting her and be her knight in shining armor. Honestly the abuse parts were difficult to read, I mean how can people be this way? How can they torture someone just for fun?, unfortunately, as many can say is unbelievable that a person can suffer this much abuse at home or at school, it really can happen, and sometimes reality is even worse.

The end was sweet, but I wanted to have more details of their future together, you know have a glimpse at their HEA, but it was good.

Overall a great reading, but you need to be prepared for the emotional roller coaster!.
