Kaleidoscope (Colorado Mountain, #6)Kaleidoscope by Kristen Ashley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

***5 beautiful stars***

"You think you lost beauty, but you didn’t. Just turn the dial."

Oh Kristen Ashley, you did it again!... I have to admit I had some doubts since the previous book was not my favorite, but no, this is another great book in the series!

Jacob Decker is a genius, hot, sexy and handsome PI, for years he's been hung up on his ex, and because of that he cut ties with Emmanuelle Holmes 9 years ago, his ex's best friend who had an special bond with Jacob. They reconnect when Deck goes to Gnaw Bone and finds Emme on the street, but she's not the same Emme she used to be, she's different and he finds himself not wanting to fight the attraction he feels to her.

Things progress fat between them, although Emme is dating a man involved in Jacob's case.

“Before, we had Elsbeth between us. My head was fucked about that, about her, and it took almost a decade to get it unfucked. Lookin’ back, havin’ you back, I now know and I reckon you know, that’s the way it was. She was between us. She knew it too. And she didn’t like it. But it didn’t matter. My head was fucked so I couldn’t see clear of her and not doin’ that, I didn’t see you."

I knew my lips had parted. I also knew my eyes got big. And last, I had no clue what to say. So I said nothing.

“Now she isn’t between us,” he finished."

I love the story, is so beautiful how they admit they always had feelings for each other and how they start a relationship, the problem was, Emme was marked when she was 12 years and she still needed to deal with that in order to move on with Jacob.

The book, as any other KA's book, has an element of suspense that makes it a great read, and as usual another great elements are the hot sexy moments, the super hot alpha male that wants to protect his woman at all cost AND the GIRL POSSE!

“Is the sex good?” Krystal asked me, and my head jerked again.

“I, well… it… we just started—” I stammered, not even knowing why I was stammering instead of telling her that was none of her business.

“I hope it’s good but not great,” Krystal remarked. “Sex slave to an alpha. Bad news.” This time my head didn’t jerk. I blinked again.

“I’m a sex slave to an alpha and I have no complaints,” Lauren muttered, grinning at Zara. “Me either,” Zara replied, grinning back.

“I’ve had mine longer than all of you,” Nina announced. “And I’m of a mind that there will never be a time I complain mostly because it’s been years and Max has given me nothing to complain about"

Yes funny moments and did I mention SUPER.HOT.SEXY.SCENES?...

Kneeling between her opened legs, he held her eyes as he rolled it on. “You’re beautiful, Emme,” he whispered.

“Jacob—” He fell forward and covered her, lips to her lips, he rolled his hips and positioned the tip of his cock inside. “I’m big, honey,” he murmured against her mouth.

"I noticed,” she breathed, her arms rounding him. He slid an inch deeper. Tight. Heaven. Fuck, he wanted to bury himself inside.

“You can’t take me, tell me, or you can’t talk, bite my shoulder.”

“More,” she panted, lifting her hips. Fuck yes. He slid an inch deeper. He closed his eyes and rested his forehead against hers. Slick. Close. Fucking heaven. “More, honey,” she begged. He gave her more, slid out and partially back in. “Jacob—”

“We go slow.” He gave her more, slid out and then partially back in. She squirmed under him, tipping up her hips. Beautiful. Fuck. Killing him.

“Jacob—”

“Slow"

"God,” she whimpered as he gave her more, slid back out and then in. Her legs rounded him and her nails again scraped his back.

“Jacob—” He opened his eyes. “Slow.”

“But—” He slid out and back in. “I—” she began. “Sl—” he started to repeat, but she tipped her chin, caught his lower lip between her teeth, locked her eyes with his, let his lip go and begged, “Please, honey, fuck me.”

Her words, her actions broke his control and he couldn’t hold back any longer. He thrust in savagely and buried himself to the root"

For me this was a great book, definately worth it!
